How Did Captain America Score 79 On Rotten Tomatoes?

There are many films I watch, enjoy and then disagree with the negative reviews its recieves. However when I see a film has scored a strong review on the likes of Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic I'm confident the film is going to be enjoyable as its based upon the opinion of multiple people. I really like the super hero narrative, I have dabbled in comics played the video games but the cinema is undoubtably where they are at their highest level of awesome. I have seen all the films building up to The Avengers and the little post credit teasers work really well. They have clearly caught on as 3/4 of the cinema audiance stayed for the entire credits at the showing of Captain America I just got back from. This brings me to my main point.

Captain America: The First Avenger in my opinion is the weakest Marvel film I have seen in a long long time. The big draw with this genre of movies are the "WOAH" moments which usually involves the protagonist unleashing a unique ability or a perfectly captured fantasy environment expertly translated into cinematography. Take for example Thor, the first fight scene Thor goes mad and uses his Hammer to unleash utter destruction in an unforgiven ice world. This didnt occur in Captian America, bar one scene  the fight scene, everything else could be classed as slow motion montages, straight from the trailer. Perhaps the fact the narrative is based in World War 2 a real life scenario strangels the opportunity for immersive fantasy imagery and set pieces.

The film did a good job of showing the protagonists background and how came to be the Captain America but once he had that status I didn't seem to feel like I was watching one of Marvels timeless heroes in action. Perhaps it wasn't helped by the the antagonist ; Red Skull. What did he actually do?  I'm not saying the film was terrible but I don't think it deserved such strong reviews. Maybe I'm looking for something different in my super hero movies or maybe thats the problem I shouldn't be looking it as a "super hero" film but something else entirely different?
Either way your thoughts and comments on why this film scored so well are very much welcome.

The Amazing Spiderman Trailer 1 HD

The Amazing Spiderman trailer here. I was a huge fan of the original trilogy regardless of the criticism the final film received. It made me sad to think that was the end of such a cool franchise so I'm more than happy to see it rebooted. Plenty more Spiderman to come in our lives. The trailer looks good to me, I liked the first person perspective.

Leonardo DiCaprio is Hollywood's Highest Paid Actor

It has been reported that Leonardo DiCaprio was paid a whopping $77 million for his roles within the movies “Shutter Island” and “Inception” making him the highest paid actor between May 2010 and May 2011. Few would have predicted the Titanic Heartthrob would go on to have such a brilliant career and with the pay cheques to prove it. Twighlight’s Robert Patterson, perhaps today’s heartthrob would I’m sure love to follow the route Leo has so expertly taken. Following DiCaprio in second place was Johnny Depp who’s roles within movies such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Rango” earned him an impressive $50 million.
